Last years kid, Tim is an absolute beauty. He is has already introduced me to his sharp talons! I guess I am getting slow in my old age..LOL!! I will keep you posted with photos as our work progresses....
B13, this eye is really NOT happy with me at the moment. but we will work through it...LOL maybe I need to learn YOGA.. *********** Chrisy, thanks for you compliment. I didn't sepia the photo. these are the unenhanced colors. **************** Klaus, Hey nice to finally put a face to the name..LOL :-)
Just last weekend I got to see a red tail hawk close up at an Earth Day event I was working at. He was injured, and is now an "education" bird.
Every now and then the hawk would look right at me, with a look like "I'd like a chunk outa your nose, buddy." It was intimidating! Or he'd look at the handler's head like "That ear looks good!"
Brian, thanks so much for stopping by.. ********* Dave,LOL to funny, the hawk didn't really want to eat the handler, thought he may have been looking to him/her for food. and yes it might of tried to take a chunk out of you, just to make you stay back though. lol they are really fascinating birds. I am glad you got to see one up close.. It is great when they are used for education purposes rather than being put to sleep. Catch you later

Its eye looks like old parchment paper. what a fantastic animal.
Wondeful shot. I love the tone of the picture, the brown background with the brown of the bird. It looks like it has been sepia toned.
What a gorgeous image! They are such fascinating creatures!
I envy you working with them!
Cheers, Klaus

I love falcons, they are gods of the wind!
Dark kiss.
P. S. Not a metaphor: they really are gods, from a past time, of freedom, kindness and glory!
